Meet Our provider!

Hey there, nice to meet you! My name is Rholonda Adams, but you can call me Rho. I am an ANCC Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and hopefully your new psychiatric provider. I received my bachelor’s in nursing from Kennesaw State University and my master’s degree in nursing, with specialization in psychiatric mental health, from Vanderbilt University.

I treat anxiety, depression, mood disorders, psychotic disorders and secondary sleep disorders via medication management and brief psychotherapy skills review. Some of my major areas of interest include anxiety and depression related to life changes such as high schoolers going to college, young adults adjusting to college, and adults acclimating to their professional careers/ parenthood/ aging. I like to optimize medication regimens (so that each client is utilizing the fewest effective medications) and help people learn/implement coping skills to utilize alongside their medications for improving mental wellness. Some areas I am currently furthering my knowledge in include

  • treatments for schizophrenia that allow clients to be functional and enjoy their lives (not feel like “zombies”)

  • best practices for personality disorders as many providers are not trained to successfully work with their impairments

  • treatment resistant psychiatric disorder solutions like ECT, TMS, Ketamine, etc.

As a mental health care provider, I believe it is my duty to stay up to date on evidenced based practices as well as up and coming research related to the disorders I treat.

My goal when working with you, my potential client, is to help you put together your most effective tool kit (i.e. medication + practical, complementary behavioral skills) to manage distressing symptoms and live the life you have envisioned for yourself. We will also briefly goal set during each session to ensure that we are working toward the goals you have for yourself.

I’m ready to work with you now if you’re willing to try! Complete the New Client Paperwork so we can get started!
